The Course des Remparts de Provins is an autumn road race held in Provins, a medieval city east of Paris in Seine-et-Marne, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Participants can select a 6.3 km single loop or an 18.3 km race comprising three loops. This structure accommodates both shorter-distance runners and those seeking a longer city course with repeated ascents. The shorter race involves a 49-meter elevation gain, while the longer race has a 143-meter gain.
The route commences on Avenue Alain Peyrefitte, proceeds under the trees of Boulevard d'Aligre, enters the old city ramparts, and follows the Durteint river. A steep ramp leading into the challenging section known as the "trou au chat" adds difficulty. After navigating the medieval streets and walls, runners can explore Provins further by visiting the Tour César, a 12th-century keep and a primary historic landmark.
