Courses de Noël - Olivet is a free Christmas fun run in Olivet, near Orléans, held annually before the school holiday break. Participants begin and end under an inflatable arch on rue des Cireries, adjacent to the Orbellière gymnasium, as part of the town’s “Olivet fête Noël” festivities. The event accommodates participants aged 7 and up, with distances tailored to age brackets: 650 m for ages 7-9, 1,050 m for ages 10-12, 2,850 m for ages 13-15, and 5,150 m for those 16 and older.
The courses consist of several loops within the Val neighborhood, positioning it as a local family evening run rather than a major road race. The initial three races allow for individual participation by children or family entries with a designated adult. An adult may accompany a child before proceeding to the 5,150 m race. Registration requires a new, unwrapped toy in good condition, valued at a minimum of 5 euros, which Olivet Solidarité then distributes to families requiring assistance. Christmas attire is encouraged, with awards for the top three costumes. Runners in the longest race must carry a light and are recommended to wear reflective clothing.
