Duathlon de Château Gontier 2027

The Duathlon de Château Gontier is a run-bike-run event held in Château-Gontier-sur-Mayenne, located in France’s Mayenne department within the Pays de la Loire region. Scheduled for late March, it marks the season's beginning and is managed by Château Gontier Triathlon, adhering to FFTRI regulations. The event includes races for youth and two adult categories: XS, comprising a 2.5 km run, a 10 km bike leg, and a 1.25 km run, and S Sprint, featuring a 5 km run, a 20 km bike leg, and a 2.5 km run. This setup provides a suitable option for those new to duathlon, while the Sprint distance offers a more intense challenge for experienced competitors. The inaugural edition took place in the historic center of Château-Gontier, contributing to a local atmosphere distinct from a large urban event. The race routes are secured, drafting is permitted in all categories, and time trial bicycles are prohibited, encouraging participants to use road bikes and adopt a more group-oriented racing style. The program accommodates a wide range of participants, including children, juniors, novices, club members, and competitive athletes, which stands out as a significant advantage of the event.
