Vairé, a small commune in Vendée near the coast, hosts a spring duathlon on a demanding course suitable for local participants and national competitors. This run-bike-run event can serve as a regional qualifier for the French Duathlon Championship and also awards the Vendée duathlon titles.
The event features races for youth, XS categories, and adult S-distance competitions, meaning children, club athletes, and senior competitors follow the same schedule. Vairé has held its duathlon multiple times, and the FFTri has selected it more than once for the Grand Prix calendar, including the opening round of the French D1 Duathlon Championship. The participant list can include top athletes; world champion Benjamin Choquert was among those announced for the D1 round.
