Ekiden de Villenave d'Ornon 2026

The Ekiden de Villenave d'Ornon is an evening team relay race held in Villenave d'Ornon, near Bordeaux. Runners share the full marathon distance rather than completing it individually. The primary ekiden event involves six runners per team, covering legs of 5 km, 10 km, 5 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 7.195 km. A secondary marathon relay for four runners is also available, dividing the distance into 15 km, 10 km, 10 km, and 7.195 km segments. Both relays commence at 18:00, with headlamps becoming compulsory from 18:45. The race utilizes a 5 km circuit, allowing teammates, supporters, and spectators to observe the runners repeatedly. Entry for the Ekiden is limited to 70 teams. Available categories include women's teams, mixed teams, Masters men, Masters women, men's teams, and teams representing workplaces or local authorities.
