Envolée Nordique is a winter cross-country ski race in Chapelle-des-Bois, organized by the Mont Noir ski club. It is a popular event for Nordic skiers, but it depends heavily on having enough snow on the local tracks.
The ski race has recently been canceled several times in a row because the snow was not sufficient. Alongside it, the club also runs a Nordic trail race, first planned as a secondary event, and that trail format is easier to keep on the calendar because it is less exposed to changing snow conditions.
