Extrême sur Loue is a mountain-bike race and ride weekend held in Ornans, located in France’s Loue valley. It takes place over two days in early October. Organized by Vélo Club Ornans, this is the 28th edition. It attracts competitive MTB riders, leisure cyclists, gravel riders, road cyclotourists, walkers, trail runners, and children. The program includes a Mini-Xtrem for kids and an international UCI mountain-bike competition, with options for both licensed racers and riders without a racing license.
The MTB component features eight FFC Rando d’Or routes, designed with increasing levels of distance, climbing, and technical difficulty. A 67 km race is available to both licensed and non-licensed competitors, following the same course as the UCI women’s race. The weekend also offers two gravel rides, two new road cyclotourism routes, two night Nordic walks, and a 12 km night trail run. Routes traverse roads, meadows, and forest sections around the valley. Entry includes a start snack, aid stations, a finish meal, a gift, a personalized frame plate, bike washing, and bike parking.
