Festival des Hospitaliers is a trail-running weekend held in October in Nant, a village in Aveyron situated at the base of the Larzac plateau, close to the Gard border. Established in 2009, it features three primary distances: La Nantaise (13.6 km with 540 m elevation gain), Trail Larzac-Dourbie (approximately 30 km with 1,400 m elevation gain), and the 75 km Trail des Hospitaliers with 3,490 m elevation gain. Mini Trails are also available for children, making the event suitable for participants of all ages.
All races commence in Nant, leading into the surrounding landscape with forests, open causse terrain, consistent ascents, and challenging descents. The course offers minimal flat sections, demanding continuous effort. The weather can shift rapidly to cold or wet conditions, making waterproof clothing advisable. A notable segment includes a passage through the hamlet of Cantobre, which also hosts an aid station. Nant enhances the weekend with its dining options, bars, and local artisanal products. The races are integrated into the UTMB Index and uphold commitments to charity and environmental causes.
