The Grand Trail des Hauts-de-France is a night trail race held in Liévin, Pas-de-Calais, northern France, in early November. Participants can select from multiple distances, ranging from 9.5 km to a 61 km course featuring 1,620 metres of elevation gain. The 61 km race holds a UTMB Index 50K qualification, attracting dedicated trail runners and those seeking a demanding local challenge after sunset.
The course crosses the Artois hills and the former mining basin, incorporating the area's slag heaps, sharp ascents, tight single tracks, and wild hillsides. It operates under semi-autonomy, leading from the mining region towards the Lorette hills, with a passage through Fresnicourt and its dolmens. The race emphasizes the region's mining heritage and historical background over a standard forest run, and its brief existence has already established a solid reputation among local trail runners.
