The H2O Trail - de ville en fermes begins at the summit of Le Puy-en-Velay, leading participants from the city into the farms and open countryside of Velay in Haute-Loire. This timed trail event offers two distances: 13 km with 370 meters of elevation gain, or 24 km with 714 meters of elevation gain. Participants may run individually or as teams of four, welcoming families, friends, colleagues, and more competitive runners. Bib pickup is located at Place du Breuil.
The course crosses the Borne river near Aiguilhe, continuing through agricultural lands and farmers' fields. Reflecting its "from town to farms" theme, water's role in agriculture is central to the day, highlighting water management, livestock farming, and the efforts of local producers as integral components of the event. Aid stations will feature exclusively products from partner farmers, and a regional meal will be available for purchase post-race. The schedule also includes urban farm activities and water-related displays connected to agriculture.
