The Hippo’Run de Balaruc is a charity road race held in Balaruc-les-Bains, on the Hérault coast in Occitanie, France, typically in mid-September. Organized by the association Nos Enfants Extraordinaires de Thau, it supports children, young people, and adults with disabilities, guided by the motto “Run for their smile, a step towards hope.” The start and event village are located at the Espace Sportif du Petit Bois on Avenue de la Gare, with a program designed for families and runners alike.
The race offers short children’s events of approximately 800 or 900 metres and 1.5 km, alongside adult road races of about 5 km and 11.4 or 12 km. Longer distances up to a half marathon are also listed. The 11.4 km course consists of two loops, and the 5 km “March of Friendship” is not timed. Registration is available online or on-site, with a small extra fee for late entries. The event includes a Sport-Health area, food and beverages, children’s inflatable structures, and the playful concept of becoming the “Hippo’Roi.”
