Izernight is a night trail race held on Halloween weekend in Izernore, a village in France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Participants can select from 11 km, 17 km, and 24 km trail routes. A 12 km walk is also available for those seeking the event's atmosphere without the competitive aspect of the longer trails. The 11 km race attracts the largest number of participants, while the two longer trails have each seen over 200 runners. The Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers d’Izernore, the local firefighters’ association, organizes the event.
The routes primarily follow marked trails and paths along the northern edge of Haut-Bugey. The Halloween theme is integrated into the course with a section passing the "house of horror." Izernore offers unique local characteristics, including Gallo-Roman ruins with a rare temple, and a nearby archaeology museum. The surrounding area features the Monts Berthiand, the Molard aux Biches summit, and the Plastics Vallée, known for its plastics manufacturing industry. Post-race refreshments feature regional specialties such as Bresse poultry, cardons with marrow, vincuit, rissole, and bugnes.
