The Kal Onna Trail is a trail running series held in Chalonnes-sur-Loire, Maine-et-Loire. It offers three race distances: approximately 10 km, 20 km, and 42 km. The marathon-distance trail features around 1,600 meters of elevation gain, providing runners a choice between a shorter run along the Loire River and a more demanding challenge in the hills.
The routes traverse paths, streams, and hillsides near the Loire River, winding through vineyards, valleys, waterways, and moderate inclines. Located within the Loire Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the courses offer participants a genuine experience of the Pays d'Anjou, distinct from a simple town loop. Now in its eleventh edition, the race has established local traditions while maintaining an intimate atmosphere, avoiding the feel of a large, impersonal event.
