L'Enfer Des Nutons 2027

L'Enfer Des Nutons is a mountain trail race held in Fromelennes, Ardennes, Grand Est region of France, on a weekend at the end of April. The name references the nuton, a creature from Ardennes folklore, and the event incorporates this local legend with the motto “Les Nutons n'ont pas peur du feu!” Participants can select from 6 km, 11 km, 22 km, and 50 km distances, offering a short introduction to trail running alongside a more demanding day in the hills. The distances present significant elevation gains relative to their length: the 6 km route includes approximately 200 m of elevation gain, the 11 km has 450 m, and the 22 km ascends around 1,100 m. The 50 km, noted as the most popular choice, features roughly 2,000 m to 2,400 m of positive elevation, classifying it as a Trail S category for extended mountain races. The shorter distances are designed for novice and intermediate runners, while the 22 km and 50 km cater to those seeking a more challenging Ardennes course with continuous climbs.
