La Besace Nature is a December running event held in Saint-Martin-des-Besaces, Calvados, Normandy. The course features mixed terrain and passes through a Natura 2000 protected area, positioning it as a trail running event rather than a typical road race. The event typically includes three running races, a hike, and a Nordic walk, making it a local outdoor gathering for participants of all types, not just a single-start race.
The event is organized by Stoppâge, courir pour le mieux vieillir, an association founded by running enthusiasts to promote healthy ageing through physical activity. Participation has seen significant growth; one edition attracted over 350 entrants following a 50 percent increase, and a subsequent edition registered 734 runners. Wet weather and soft ground are characteristic of the race in the Bocage virois, with organizers noting these conditions are typical for La Besace Nature.
