La Bougarbersienne begins in Bougarber, a village in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, set for late September. This trail-running event offers three primary distances: 8 km, 11 km, and 17 km. Additionally, there is a walking option, children’s and junior races, and short 1500m and 800m duo races for children and adults.
The longest route, La Périlhosa, measures 17 km with 550 metres of elevation gain. The 11 km La Bèra Vista features approximately 350 metres of climbing, and the 8 km course has about 250 metres. The paths traverse natural, preserved areas near Bougarber, making it suitable for trail runners and local families who enjoy the outdoors, rather than road racers focused on speed. AAPE Bougarber is the organizer, and the event also benefits a charitable cause.
