La Capétienne is an annual Nordic walking event based in Senlis, with a competitive 20 km nature walk and a 12 km leisure option. It also offers an introductory Nordic walking workshop, so the weekend is not only for regular racers. The competition carries a National FFA label for nature Nordic walking, serves as a qualifier for the French Championships, and counts toward the Hauts-de-France Nordic Challenge.
The routes use natural trails through the Ermenonville and Pontarmé forests, with the wider area linked to the Ermenonville, Halatte, and Chantilly forest massifs. Underfoot, walkers get sandy soil and rolling ground rather than flat park paths, while the forest mixes oak, beech, Scots pine, heather, and ferns. Ermenonville belongs to the Oise Regional Natural Park, and the area is protected under Natura 2000. La Capétienne also partners with La Senlis’Oise to support an organ and tissue donation association, with one euro from each entry donated.
