La Course Doubstacles is a muddy obstacle race held in Étalans, located in the Doubs department of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. It takes place annually around the end of March. This event is designed for beginners, groups of friends, families, and runners who enjoy costumes, rather than for competitive specialists. The primary adult race covers 7 km and features approximately 15 to 18 obstacles, with participation open to individuals aged 15 and above. For younger participants, La Petite Boucle offers a 1 to 2 km course with 6 obstacles, catering to children and teenagers between the ages of 7 and 14.
The adult race waves commence throughout the morning, while the children's races are scheduled for the afternoon. This event was initially organized by the Ligue Bourgogne Franche-Comté du Sport Universitaire. The organization of the race involves significant effort; one past edition saw 701 participants, supported by 70 volunteers, following seven months of preparation. The atmosphere is intentionally lighthearted, with mud, a costume competition, post-race massages, and the local saying “on va y aller tout Doubs” which helps establish the event's playful spirit.
