La Courzapat sends runners and hikers into the hills around Courzieu on Halloween night, with headlamps, costumes, and trail shoes expected. Organized by Les Traileurs Des Monts, it is a night trail and hiking event rather than a road race, with online-only registration and evening starts from the village sports hall.
The program includes an 11 km hike with 500 m of climbing, an 11 km trail run with the same elevation gain, a 25 km trail with 1,130 m of climbing, and L'Azimut, a 16-25 km autonomous race built around checkpoints where runners choose their own route. Aid stations are planned on the marked courses, poles are allowed on the 11 km trail, hikers can bring a dog, and the Halloween setting provides an excuse to show up in costume.
