La dynamorun - Dunkerque

La Dynamorun is a run-or-walk event in Dunkirk, held on a Saturday in June, commemorating the 1940 events of Operation Dynamo. It is more than a road race; the route incorporates dunes, beaches, and urban trail sections, with historical stops integrated into the course. The course passes the museum, the jetty, the Digue des Allies, and the Fort des Dunes de Leffrinckoucke, returning runners to modern Dunkirk through areas like the Halle aux Sucres, FRAC, LAAC, and the Malouine houses quarter. Participants are encouraged to dress in 1940s style, from suspenders and berets to vintage dresses or military uniforms. The day features retro music, a costume contest, course refreshments, homemade fries, local beer, and food rewards included with registration.
