La Foulée du Foussa begins and ends in the village center of Rognes, a Provençal village in the Bouches-du-Rhône. The event offers 10 km and 15 km foot races, along with a 10 km sport walk for those seeking the local atmosphere without the competition. Held in February, it is part of the Challenge du Pays d’Aix, attracting runners who participate in that regional circuit as well as local residents. The MJC of Rognes helps organize the event, with assistance from local sports and festival groups in certain years.
The course departs the village and enters the surrounding hills, utilizing roads and undulating trails through the countryside near Rognes. The 15 km route includes approximately 170 meters of elevation gain, providing a varied terrain without becoming a mountain race. Race-day arrangements contribute to its local character: bibs are collected on the day, a brunch is served at the start in the associations hall, refreshments are available on the course, and a snack awaits finishers. Every participant gets a bottle of local wine, and prizes are awarded to the top three men and women overall, as well as to category winners in the foot races.
