La Groisillonne

La Groisillonne takes place on Groix, an island off Lorient, offering short road and trail options rather than a single main event. Adult distances are 5 km, 10 km, and 18.6 km. The longest route ascends 206 metres, making it accessible yet providing the feel of an island trail race. The routes incorporate Groix’s coastal paths and less-trafficked secondary roads, presenting runners with a blend of seaside running and island lanes. The event also features 1 km and 2 km races for younger children, with free entry for ages 7 to 9 and 10 to 11, enhancing its family appeal compared to many small trail events. Now in its eighth edition, the race maintains low entry fees, with the main paid races priced between 10 and 20 euros.
