The La Jarlandine 78 km is a mountain bike ride starting in Château-Arnoux, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, with departures beginning at 7:00 AM. This long VTT route covers 78 km and includes 1,838 meters of elevation gain, presenting a significant endurance challenge rather than a brief local circuit. The event is organized by USCASA Cyclo VTT and is part of the Kikouroù endurance-sports calendar, which also features previous editions and community participation details.
The route structure is based on a cloverleaf design originating from a central point, allowing riders to link several loops under the "Trace ta Jarlandine" concept. Shorter marked routes are available in green, blue, red, black, and enduro styles. Additionally, a 63 km gravel route offers 1,133 meters of climbing across paths, roads, and trails; this gravel course is unmarked, requiring riders to use a GPX track, and includes a support stop near the midpoint. The event caters to more than just mountain bikers, with a walking tour beginning later in the morning, a welcome area featuring exhibitors, and food available at the finish line, including refreshments, a bar, and paella for those who pre-register for the meal.
