La Malestroyenne is a six-kilometer run-walk in Malestroit, Morbihan, held during Pink October to raise money for breast cancer research and support for patients and their loved ones. It begins at Place Queinnec following a morning gathering and a shared warm-up. This event is primarily a solidarity run: women form the main field, with men permitted exceptionally. Now in its tenth edition, the event attracts a large local crowd, with over 1,800 participants registered, including about a hundred men.
The course is suitable for both walkers and runners, attracting regular runners, families, friends, survivors, and those participating in honor of someone close. Pink attire is a key visual element, with participants running or walking through Malestroit for the breast cancer cause. A recent edition saw 1,840 women complete the six kilometers, raising EUR17,000. These funds were distributed to Ligue contre le cancer, Faire face ensemble, and Centre Eugene Marquis to support care and research.
