La Montliardaise is a November trail-running event in Moulidars, in the Charente department of western France. It gives runners five off-road choices, from a short 9 km race up to a 39 km route, with 14 km, 18 km, and 25 km options in between. The day also includes a free-paced walk and children’s races, so it is built for local families and casual walkers as well as trail runners.
The race started when two runners from Montliard decided to create an event in their own commune, with help from athletes, friends, council members, and newcomers. Its first edition drew 620 runners across two routes plus 140 walkers. It later joined the Charente trail challenge, grew to 850 runners with 200 walkers and 70 children, and then passed 1,000 runners across three courses, making it one of the main trail events in Charente.
