La Nocturne de Noël is a night trail race in Bonningues-lès-Calais, a village in Pas-de-Calais in northern France, a few kilometers from Calais. It is run in early December and offers two single-loop forest routes: 8.2 km with 320 m of climbing, and 15.4 km with 790 m of climbing.
The race sends runners into the forest after dark, so the setting is more headlamp-and-stars than road-race crowds. The shorter route suits beginners or anyone who wants a steadier run, while the longer route is the main draw and packs a lot of climbing into a compact distance. Calais is close enough for a post-race visit, with the Calais Lighthouse, the UNESCO-listed Belfry of Calais, and the Cité internationale de la dentelle et de la mode nearby.
