La Paugam, held in Ploubezre, Brittany, is a solidarity sports event centered on the André Paugam race and its mission to raise funds for cancer research. The 27th edition attracted 240 participants, featuring a significant number of cyclists, with all profits directed to Institut Curie.
The event is also known by the phrase “Courir pour la vie, courir pour Curie” — “Run for life, run for Curie.” Organized by the Amicale des cyclos et vététistes, cyclists form a substantial part of the participants. One past edition saw 170 riders, and local professional Franck Bonnamour participated in the 95 km route as a local resident supporting the cause.
