La Rugissante de Noël is a festive night run held in the city center of Châtellerault during the Christmas season, organized by the local triathlon club Les Lions châtelleraudais. It is characterized as a foot race, or corrida, with a charitable purpose rather than solely a competitive road race.
The event originated from the club's desire to organize an activity in their hometown. Les Lions châtelleraudais was founded by athletes including Frédéric Guesdon and Pierre Massonneau, and the club currently comprises approximately 130 members, with about fifty children participating in its triathlon school. Eighty volunteers assist in managing the race, which is coordinated with a partner association.
