La Serroise is a nature trail event held in Serres-Castet, a town in the Béarn region of Pyrénées-Atlantiques in southwest France. Typically scheduled for mid-September, it offers runners and walkers several short, hilly route choices instead of a single main race. The standard offerings include trail races of approximately 12.5 km and 8 km, nature walks of 10 km and 8 km, and children’s races covering 0.4 km, 0.8 km, and 1.2 km.
The routes are designed as loops with sufficient elevation gain to provide a genuine local trail running experience. The 12.5 km trail features around 350 m of ascent, the 8 km trail approximately 200 m, and the 10 km walk about 300 m. Recent events have also included a longer 15.5 km race, a timed 9.2 km walk, and an 8.1 km family walk with 155 m of climbing. Families are clearly a focus, with all children participating in the kids’ races receiving prizes, and the day concludes with a meal arranged by the AS Pont Long rugby school.
