La Sibérienne is a winter trail-running series held in Laffrey, a commune in Isère near Grand Serre. The races take place on trails, offering distances from 7 km to 24 km, along with a free children's race. The 24 km Trail XS format includes approximately 800 metres of elevation gain, indicating that even the main distance emphasizes sustained mountain effort over pure speed.
The courses are set around Grand Serre. Laffrey provides a mountain-village setting and a strong local character, with the commune also featuring the steep Laffrey ramp, a well-known road section. The event attracts a diverse group of participants, not just specialists, with nearly 1,000 runners anticipated following an initial edition that saw 850 participants. Its winter and night format is a distinctive feature, combining cold-weather conditions and racing after dark with a focused selection of trail distances.
