Le Défi des Héros en Or is a charity road race and walking event in Saint-Jean-le-Blanc, in the Loiret department of Centre-Val de Loire, France. Held in mid-September, it offers two distances: a 5 km loop and a 10 km loop, with the 5 km open to walkers. Its motto, “Deviens un héros” — “Become a hero” — reflects the event’s focus on using sport to support a charitable cause, rather than solely on race times. The route circles the lake at the Charlemagne leisure base, keeping runners and walkers on a contained local course. The 10 km consists of one full 10 km loop, while the 5 km uses a shorter loop.
