Le Maidières Trail is a small trail-running event in Maidières, offering morning starts and short off-road races instead of long mountain distances. The programme typically includes 11 to 15 km races: an 11 km option starts first, followed by a 15 km trail and a 13 km race. Entry fees are modest, with the shortest race at 5 EUR and the longer options at 10 EUR.
The courses use natural terrain and include genuine climbing for their distance, particularly the 15 km route with 450 m of positive elevation gain; the 13 km route lists 180 m. The event is designed for mixed abilities, providing a challenge for runners seeking effort but with distances that remain accessible. There is a refreshment stop during the race and another at the finish. The series has reached its fifth edition. Recent winners of the 15 km trail included Léna Brun and Tristan Humblet, while Malaury Thiery and Thibaut Thomas won the 12 km nature race.
