Trail di Sermanu is a small mountain trail event in Sermano, Haute-Corse, located in the Boziu region above the village. Runners can select from two hilly races. The longer route covers approximately 20-21 km with about 1200 m of elevation gain, while the shorter option is around 12-13 km with roughly 700 m of elevation gain. To ensure safety, the event is limited to 350 participants, and both race bibs share the same price.
The courses traverse the hills surrounding Sermano, where a cold wind can sometimes affect the early-season challenge. The organizers, Associu di Sermanu, refer to it as a “course paisana”: a village-style race where the physical effort is important, but the post-race spuntinu (snack) is also a key element. A heritage walk to the old village of L’Isula is available for non-runners, and the race is part of the I chjassi di u Riacquistu events.
