The Waldo 15 km is an evening road race held in Waldolwisheim, a village of just over 500 inhabitants. This race is part of a three-race evening program, starting from the town hall square, and has been held annually since 1982.
The 15 km is part of one of the region’s oldest running events and is considered the oldest road race in its department. Over 43 editions, more than 17,000 runners have completed a Waldo race, with a recent edition setting a record of 632 participants. On race night, the village population can double or even triple between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., making the event feel like the main night of the year in Waldolwisheim, rather than just a quiet local run.
