Les Défis de la Boucle - Etape 3 is a 10 km night trail race held in Pelousey, a village in France's Doubs department. Taking place in early December, the event combines off-road running with village streets, offering participants both dark natural paths and illuminated urban sections within the same short race.
The course is designed for runners who appreciate nature, a bit of adrenaline, and the heightened focus required for racing after sunset. The prior edition attracted over 400 participants, giving it the atmosphere of a significant local winter running event with a substantial crowd, rather than a small club gathering. Pelousey is also situated near Besançon and its UNESCO-listed citadel. The Forêt de Chaux, Château de Joux, and the thermal baths at Salins-les-Bains are accessible for those extending their visit into a weekend.
