Les Foulées du Cœur de l’AMPC is a charity road-running event in Lyon, held at the small meadow in Parc de Gerland and run along the Rhône quays. The Association des Médecins et Pharmaciens du Cœur organizes it annually for children hospitalized at IHOPe, the pediatric hematology and oncology institute at Centre Léon Bérard. Participants can choose 15 km, 10 km, or 5 km, while the Tour du Cœur offers children and families a short, open course of about 500 metres on a free-donation basis.
The route starts in Parc de Gerland and follows the Rhône-side running paths frequented by many Lyon runners, with some descriptions placing the longer courses between Gerland and Parc de la Tête d’Or. The main races are for participants aged 16 and over, but the Tour du Cœur is open to all. The race village includes warm-ups, a refreshment stand, children’s activities, and a tombola, structuring the morning around families as much as finish times. All money raised funds outings and weekends away for hospitalized children and their families, including trips outside the hospital. Those unable to attend in person can participate remotely via Ouirace.
