Les Petal'ARD is a choose-your-distance trail event held at the Gymnase d'Ardon on rue de la Chancellerie in Ardon, Sologne, France. It runs from early morning until mid-afternoon, with a set entry fee and no registration on the day. The format differs from a standard trail race: participants complete timed "petal" sections, with the connecting zones between them not timed.
The course can be configured for shorter or longer distances, offering options of approximately 11.5 km, 35.5 km, and a four-petal route totaling about 39.5 km. The terrain is relatively flat for trail running, with a maximum of 120 m elevation gain. Checkpoint cut-offs are in place, and mandatory safety equipment includes at least 0.5L of water, a cup, a survival blanket, and a whistle. Junior participants are limited to 25 km and cadets to 15 km, with older age groups having free choice. The Route de la Petite Mérie is closed to traffic for runner safety, with access managed via adjacent departmental roads.
