The Lucus Trail is a March trail-running event held in Lucq-de-Béarn, a village within France’s Pyrénées-Atlantiques department. It provides timed races ranging from 11.4 km to 21.3 km, alongside a non-timed hike. This setup accommodates both runners aiming for a specific time and walkers who prefer the same rural setting without time constraints.
The Sommet des chênes Trail, the longest race at 21.3 km, features 600 m of elevation gain. It begins on easier terrain, becoming more technical around the 13 km mark, primarily through wooded areas. The 11.4 km Ronde des châtaigniers Trail includes 350 m of climbing, narrow paths, and forest stretches. The surrounding landscape offers shaded woods, undulating hills, Pyrenean vistas, and views returning toward the historic village. Bib collection and registration take place at the community hall, simplifying the start-day process.
