The Trail de l'Eau Rousse is a 13.5 km race within Mad'Trail, a mountain trail-running series held in the Vallées d'Aigueblanche, Savoie. It features 620 meters of elevation gain, making it a short race by distance but a genuine uphill challenge. Mad'Trail offers eight timed events across two summer weekends, starting from Doucy Station and Valmorel, with distances varying from an 8 km trail to the 63 km Mad'Trail.
The series utilizes paths and mountain tracks through the Morel and Eau Rousse valleys, with routes ascending toward La Madeleine, Cheval Noir, and Gollet passes, and passing Crève-Tête and Roche Blanche. The program also includes a steep vertical kilometer, a 16 km Crève Tête race, 29 km and 45 km mountain trails, and five children's formats under the Mad'Kids and Mad' Mini Kids banners. Volunteers manage aid stations, bib collection, course marking, signaling, children's race logistics, and finisher awards, contributing to the event's atmosphere as a local mountain weekend focused on runners of diverse ages and abilities.
