Marathon de Cheverny et trail des châteaux de la Loire 2027

The Marathon de Cheverny and trail des châteaux de la Loire is a race weekend held in Cheverny, within Loire château country, featuring both road marathon and trail running events. The trail races, also known as Trail du Pays des Châteaux, are offered in 63 km, 35 km, and 10 km distances, accommodating runners seeking a short off-road race or a longer challenge. The event has run for over twenty editions. Recently, the trail races demonstrated increased competitiveness. With consistent routes and similar weather conditions, the winning times for the 63 km were reduced by approximately 30 minutes, the 35 km by nine minutes, and the 10 km by seven minutes. Race director Pascal Nourrisson attributed this to a stronger field of participants. Local runners Pierre Richer and Julie Chevallier performed notably; Richer completed the 63 km in 4:48:51 and finished the marathon distance in under three hours.
