The Marathon de l'Ardèche covers 42.2 km from Le Cheylard to La Voulte-sur-Rhône in November. The race series also includes a 21.1 km half marathon starting in Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut and a 12 km run along the Eyrieux river, accommodating participants beyond just full-marathon runners.
The event, now over forty editions old, attracts skilled athletes and recreational runners alike, drawn by the challenge itself rather than the prospect of winning. Aid stations reflect the local Ardèche character, offering cured meats, cheese, wine, and sweets, accompanied by live music or a DJ at each stop. A refreshment stand is also available at the finish line.
