The Marathon Trail Périgord - Pays de Belvès is a 42 km trail marathon in the Périgord Noir region of Dordogne, France, running from Domme to Belvès. It takes place in autumn and offers the same full-distance route for solo runners, pairs, and four-person relay teams. The field is limited to approximately 1,500 runners, providing the feel of a substantial regional race without the scale of a major city marathon. The Team Event and CA Belvès organize the race, with a shuttle service provided to assist runners with the point-to-point course.
The route connects several of the area’s well-known villages and castle sites: Domme, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, Beynac-et-Cazenac, Château des Milandes, and Belvès. The course is divided into four legs: 9 km from Domme to Castelnaud, 10 km to Beynac, 9.5 km to Les Milandes, and a challenging final 15 km into Belvès featuring the day's most significant climb. Total elevation gain is distributed across all four stages, with the final section alone accounting for 440 metres. The marathon is associated with the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France network, allowing villages to field official teams for a distinct trophy.
