Montée d'Oule is a short, steep mountain race in Veynes, Hautes-Alpes, held over a late-April weekend as part of the Club Athlétique Veynois race program. The primary event is a vertical-kilometer-style trail climb: 3 km long with 800 m of elevation gain, meaning the entire race ascends from the beginning. The same weekend also features 5 km and 10 km road races, alongside children’s races of 1 km for ages 6-10 and 2 km for ages 11-12.
The race is organized by Club Athlétique Veynois, a local athletics club established in 1978 and accredited for youth and sport since 1982. The club operates from Terrain Guillaume in Veynes, engaging with participants from children starting at age six to adults new to road running or trail, as well as competitive athletes. Entries are open to licensed and non-licensed competitors. An additional challenge, the Défi de Flo, provides a separate ranking for runners completing both the Montée d'Oule climb and the 10 km road race.
