Montval Trail is a small trail-running and walking event in Montval-sur-Loir, in the Sarthe department of France’s Pays de la Loire region. It offers two timed trail races: an 11.4 km route with 144 m of climbing and a 22.1 km route with 239 m of climbing. There is also an 11.4 km walk, so the day is not only for runners chasing a time. The longer race starts earlier in the morning, followed by the shorter trail, and timing is handled by ESPACE-COMPETITION.
The event comes from COC athlétisme in Montval-sur-Loir, the local athletics club. After running 21 editions of its December Corrida, the club chose to move on to a first nature race under the Montval Trailrando name. The course information points to accessible trail distances rather than a mountain-style ultra: modest climbing, local paths around Montval-sur-Loir, and options that suit walkers, newer trail runners, and people who want a short regional race.
