Mounta Cala de Villefranche-sur-Mer is a winter night urban trail race in Villefranche-sur-Mer. Runners must bring a headlamp, and the historic Maritime Station is open as a shelter. The primary adult race covers 10 km through city streets. The evening also features a free 5 km walk and free children's races for ages 3-6, 7-10, and 11-15, with courses ranging from 150 m to 1 km.
The route begins at the Citadel drawbridge, proceeds along the quays and Promenade des Marinières, turns at Place Legen, and stays within the Old Town. It runs alongside Plage des Marinières, utilizes the Citadel ramparts and moats, and passes Rue du Poilu, a street associated with soldiers departing for war. The race originated in the 1970s, was later revived, and is now part of the Alpes-Maritimes running circuit. Following the finish, the event includes a Christmas after-party with food, music, and dancing.
