The Nice Côte d'Azur by UTMB course guides trail runners from the mountains above the French Riviera down to the Mediterranean Sea, using Nice as the central finish location. It takes place in late September, offering four distinct trail distances: a 165K ultra covering 8,900 meters of elevation gain, a 109K race, a 50K race, and a 23K option starting from Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat.
The Ultra Trail Métropole Nice Côte d’Azur is the longest event. The other point-to-point courses begin in Roubion, Eze, and Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, all concluding in Nice. As part of the UTMB World Series, participants can collect Running Stones applicable to the broader UTMB circuit. The event attracts international trail runners, their companions, and volunteers. Aid station teams and course marshals, drawn from various global backgrounds, assist runners navigating the Riviera landscape.
