La Nordique de Saint-Avé is a Saturday afternoon Nordic walking event held at the Complexe sportif Lesvellec in Saint-Avé, Morbihan, Brittany. Organized by the club Courir à Saint-Avé, it holds national label status and provides three options: a free 4 km initiation walk with poles supplied, a timed 9.2 km Open walk without ranking, and a 12.2 km MNCC race for licensed participants.
The route follows trails near the sports complex in the Bois de Lesvellec, utilizing firm paths through pine and oak woods. The Open walk consists of three 3 km loops with 120 meters of elevation gain, while the competition race uses four loops with 160 meters of elevation gain, averaging 40 meters per lap. The event is part of the Marche Nordique Tour, concludes the Brittany regional challenge, and also functions as the Morbihan championship. Starts are segregated by gender, organized within secured corridors, and sorted by ability using bib markers, contributing to a structured feel for the competitive race before participants navigate the repeating forest loops. Following the race, top male and female finishers are awarded prizes, with category winners also recognized.
