Nordique des sables - La Grande-Motte is a Nordic walking race on the beach between Carnon and La Grande-Motte, on France's Mediterranean coast. The sand surface is integral to the challenge. The main event is an 11.9 km qualifying course for the French Championships, with a shorter 6 km route available.
The race attracts over 200 participants, including Nordic walking specialists and decorated masters athletes. Christophe Rey, a European and French M2 champion, has won the men's race, with Yannick Bonin and Xavier Gélin also finishing among the leaders. Sandrine Talbotier, a European, French, and Occitanie M2 champion, has led the women's field. Organized by the Rotary clubs of La Grande-Motte and Montpellier-Etang de l'Or with Lunel Athletisme, the event also supports charity by promoting health through sport.
