Odysséa La Plagne is the snow event in the Odysséa running series, held in Belle Plagne in the Tarentaise Valley in early March. The series has been running for over 20 years and now visits 14 cities; La Plagne has hosted this event five times. This edition prioritizes charity: it raises support for breast cancer research, and participants are encouraged to wear the pink Odysséa t-shirt. The program is designed to be accessible, featuring a 1 km children’s race for ages 5 to 12, a non-timed 5 km walk, a non-timed 5 km run, and a timed 9 km race for those seeking a greater challenge.
The course incorporates trail running on ski resort slopes while snow still covers the mountains. Runners navigate snow or partially cleared paths, making the footing more difficult than a standard road race. The main 9 km race starts from Belle Plagne in the late afternoon. Approximately 920 people participated, including local residents and visitors drawn by the charity cause as much as the run. La Plagne is decorated in pink for the occasion, and the finish line is under a large arch as daylight diminishes over Belle Plagne.
