Purple Rouen 2027

Purple Rouen is a charity running event in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray, near Rouen in Normandy, usually held around March. It offers a 5 km road race, a 10 km road race, and a 5 km untimed walk, so runners, walkers, beginners, and regular racers can all join the same event. The race supports Vie et Espoir, and some editions have donated all profits to Ligue contre le cancer. The 5 km race uses one loop, while the 10 km doubles it with two loops of the same course. Part of the event is linked to the Madrillet forest and the INSA Rouen Normandie university gymnasium, where a free village adds stands, activities, and food. Recent editions drew 745 total participants and raised more than 7,000 euros for charity, which gives the race a local, community-first feel rather than a big-city spectacle.
